The Person Behind the Pour
Fifteen years in wine. Two hundred cellars built. One goal: making your wine experience effortless.
Margaux Ellison fell in love with wine while working the floor at a Charleston fine-dining restaurant at 22. What started as a job became a calling. She spent the next decade working harvests in Burgundy, staging at Michelin-starred restaurants in New York, and earning her Court of Master Sommeliers certification.
In 2019, she moved to Savannah and launched Decant—a personal sommelier practice built on the idea that exceptional wine service shouldn’t be reserved for restaurant dining rooms. It should meet you where you live, work, and entertain.
Wine is personal. Margaux doesn’t believe in prescriptive lists or one-size-fits-all recommendations. Every engagement starts with listening—understanding how you drink, what you’ve enjoyed, and where you want to go. The result is always something that feels unmistakably yours.
Credentials
Court of Master Sommeliers certified. One of fewer than 300 women to hold the Advanced credential.
From Charleston to New York to Burgundy and back to Savannah. Restaurant floors, auction houses, and private cellars.
Ranging from 30-bottle wine fridges to 1,000+ bottle temperature-controlled rooms. Every one tailored to the client.
Decant has never run an ad. Every client comes through word of mouth—and that’s by design.
